Are you dreaming?

Where do we go when we sleep and how do we dream consciously?

We usually talk about our desires for what we would like to manifest in our future as ‘dreams’. You know “Dream the life you would like to lead and live the life you dream“. Which is a beautiful practice to inspire and help direct our lives, but then there are our actual dreams, the series of thoughts and images and sensations occurring during our sleep…

Before continuing to read, I invite you to keep in consideration that this article is based on the belief that the soul reincarnates. That the 4 elements (earth water air and fire) and the 4 cardinal points are key elements to understanding our existence. That 90% of our existence is subconscious, (you know, like we only use 10% of our lung capacity). And that there are several other dimensions besides the physical/earthly one.

In other words, there is ‘another’ side to creation. We function and operate in this world dependent on a variety of aspects and laws we either don’t understand or don’t see. (Like our lovely wifi system. We evolve our life through it, but we can’t see it).

Enter the story of our dreams…

We will spend about 1/3 of our lives sleeping. That is, if you live to be 75, 25 of that will have been spent snoozing. Quite a big slice of our pizza, is it not? So what is happening when we close our eyes and literally lose consciousness… Where does it/you go?

I will not venture down the existential rabbit hole of ‘who you are’ and agree that we have a ‘consciousness’ that experiences the vibrating entity that you are as a human being with the memories, desires, thoughts and so on. But we can ‘lose’ this consciousness, when, for example, we slip on a banana peel and hit our head and pass out, or… when we dose off at the end of the day.

So, when we are sleeping we are continuing ‘life’ (we stay breathing). Think about the people who cry, talk, laugh or even sleepwalk during their sleep. Implying that unconsciously, unaware, we go into that other 90% of life, into other dimensions, and we are there going about our business and then we open our eyes each morning and wiggle about our day.

Some ways of experiences the ‘other side’ is:

1) remembering your dreams

2) lucid dreaming – when you ‘wake up’ within your dream and are consciously experiencing and influencing the events

3) astral traveling – when you consciously leave your body

Apparently, through astral traveling experiences, you experience the other side of creation and so experience how your consciousness lives on… depending on which dimension you are traveling to, because there are 7. These 7 being: physical, astral, mental, intuitive, expressive, visionary and spiritual. Through them you can communicate with the animal kingdom, go to past lives, channel information, see the future or flow into oneness.

I share with you this information in confidence, for I might not have had the experiences myself as profoundly, but Chaty, the founder of the metaphysical and meditation center called Piramides Del Ka has, and I have sat in a wooden pyramid temple by a lake in Guatemala with tears of joy running down my cheeks as I listened to the stories she spoke, of her travels through these different dimensions. Those were tears of joy and relief at the same time. Feeling the truth of what she shared and remembering childhood experiences and beliefs that were not encouraged then, and sitting there receiving the consolation of a reality you always knew to be true but wasn’t sure of… It was touching beyond words and I am forever grateful.

Those of us (most of us) without a natural ‘gift’ for this, will probably not experience astral travel. Perro-perro, it is possible to PRACTICE, and though astral traveling might seem bit far out, remembering your dreams and lucid dreaming is in fact not. All you need to do is believe, set intentions and practice.

Practicing tips:

Applying auto-suggestive techniques. This means you want to create suggestive questions and actions that become a pattern in your subconscious and you will eventually do them in your dreams too, such as:

(During the day)

– Ask out loud to yourself ‘Are you dreaming?’ several times

– Consciously touch, knock the floor, table, to check if you are in the physical world (if you do it in your dream, you will know you are not in the physical plane, because any other plane than the physical one has a lighter density)

– Look/observe your feet and hands more closely throughout the day

– Observe your environment more closely in general

(Before sleeping)

Get a diary and note:

– The cardinal direction you place your head: E, W, N or S

– What time you go to bed

– Write the date, this sets the intention that you wish to remember your dreams

– To set the intention even stronger you acknowledge the 4 elements after your dairy time with a candle, inscent, crystal and water

– To strengthen the practice even more, you do a meditation of 30 min to calm the thoughts of your daily life before lying down to sleep

The point again? To understand our ‘deja vue’ feelings. To get to know ourselves better and have experiences and open our doors of consciousness to a fuller spectrum of our existence. Only those who try, will know. Remember meeting people and having a ‘I have met you before, we know each other, but I don’t know from where’ feeling? Most likely you met either in a previous life or during traveling through one of the dimensions… (again… so many hours of sleep… where do you go, what do you do?)

These and meditation techniques can help you become aware and let information come through or receive visions like, for example, Nikola Tesla had. He was a mystic who possessed some extraordinary mental characteristics and had out-of body experiences since an early age. It was his visualizations, dreams and various astral travels that enabled him to envision the ideas and technology that has revolutionized the world as we know it today. I would also like to call to your attention that he had a warm relationship with Swami Vivekananda (an Indian Sage). He used the words ‘prana’ and ‘akasha’ in his writings, denoting ‘energy’ and ‘matter’.

Many ideas and revolutionary visions have come to people through their dreams. Dimitri Mendeleev, who ‘discovered’ the periodic table of elements, said:

“I saw in a dream a table where all elements fell into place as required. Awakening, I immediately wrote it down on a piece of paper, only in one place did a correction later seem necessary.”

James Cameron has also cited lucid dreams as being the inspiration for one of his famous movie scenes. Musing on Avatar, he said:

“…I’ve kind of realized that what I was trying to do was create dream imagery, create a lucid dream state while you’re watching the film.”

And the list could go on…

More of us are awakening, reprogramming ourselves from our brainwashed capitalistic and materialistic mindset. I see people curious, people moving and changing, rediscovering themselves. We are all looking to connect to that which has been suppressed or forgotten.

I also invite you to keep in mind that 2018 is an especially beautiful year because it carries the vibrational number of 11, which is a master number and carries the energy of 1 twice. The energy of planting, of rooting is extra potent, it brings higher intuition and spiritual insight and increases sensitivity.

So may you all seekers seek and play with whatever comes your way to ‘reconnect’… and why not through dreams?

I dreamt a dream, what could it mean?

Breathe fully, live vibrantly, act truthfully.

Warm blessings to you all, Freya
